requirements.
Any

long term vision and enthusiasm for general aviation. We have comprehensive
experience and Licence coverage in modern designs of aircraft, as well as the
more traditional types. Be it aluminium, steel, wood or composite we already have
a good cross section of customers spanning these areas of design.
So
who are we………
Well,
Andrew Booth & Mark Davies are both licensed engineers and are directors of "Swiftair
Maintenance Ltd". We have approximately
40 yrs of aircraft maintenance experience between us ranging from PFA
inspection & build projects, civilian flying & gliding clubs/schools
with M3 & Part 145 approvals through to military aircraft and operational
contracts.
Both
Mark and Andrew also hold PPL's with various ratings and enjoy flying in their
spare time whenever they can!
Mark
started his flying whilst in the Air Cadets and after joining the RAF as an
engineer continued Gliding, gaining a Gold badge and 2 Diamonds spread over 500
hours of flying without AVGAS. Mark spent 12 years in the RAF working on
types as diverse as the Tornado F3 right down to gliders and motor
gliders. Gaining his PPL in 1997 he soon moved from glider aerobatics in
his Lo100 to flying a Pitts Special, in which he now has over 250 hours, a member
of the British Aerobatic Association (BAeA) he also enjoys flying aerobatic competitions
and is currently building a DR107 One Design. After leaving the RAF Mark
worked the next 6 years for the UK agents for Grob Aerospace gaining much experience
on new composite types. During this time he gained his BCAR license and
spent 2 years running an M3 maintenance approval as Chief Engineer before joining with Andrew to start Swiftair Maintenance
Ltd.
Also an Air Cadet, Andrew went on to join an
M3 maintenance organisation, gaining sufficient experience on most types of
light aircraft to gain BCAR Engineering license group type ratings in the early
90’s. His journey has taken him to GA flying schools and airfields, where
considerable experience in aircraft and airfield operations was gained as well
as a PPL!
In 1996 he joined the Joint Elementary
Flying Training School [JEFTS] at RAF Barkston Heath, operating the Slingsby
Firefly, providing Elementary Flying Training for the 3 services. Whilst here
composite type ratings were added to his license. Promotion to Maintenance
Manager gave responsibility for up to 45 aircraft operating from 4 UK sites,
each a JAR 145 approved maintenance facility. Wanting to utilise his license
coverage more fully he teamed up with Mark in 2007 forming Swiftair Maintenance
Ltd.
